Summerhouse Drinks supports a ‘berry’ good cause offshore
The award-winning Summerhouse Drinks brand is thrilled to announce a new partnership with ESS Support Services Worldwide, part of Compass Group UK and Ireland, unveiling a new raspberry lemonade for offshore workers, helping raise funds for The Oil and Gas Chaplaincy.
The first shipment of the new, all natural sparkling raspberry lemonade drink has already left for offshore and workers can enjoy the potent raspberry lemonade, which contains around 10% pure raspberry juice. For every bottle sold, 10 pence of will be donated to The Oil and Gas Chaplaincy.
Summerhouse Drinks, one of Scotland’s family-owned soft drinks company, has been developing its new recipe for the exclusive lemonade with the Food Health Innovation Service to reduce sugar as well as working with a local supplier, Barra Berries. The juice has no artificial colours, flavourings, sweeteners or preservatives and has a shelf life of 12 months.
Claire Rennie, Managing Director of Summerhouse Drinks said: “We are thrilled to be a part of such a fantastic cause and helping raise funds for The Oil and Gas Chaplaincy which provides pastoral and spiritual care to Britain’s oil industry. We’ve also thoroughly enjoyed working with a local primary school in Aberdeenshire to create a bespoke label for the bottle and it’s so rewarding to see just how excited the children have been about being an integral part of the process.”
Summerhouse Drinks and ESS Support Services Worldwide worked with local primary school, Tarves Primary School to design the bespoke label and the winning label was designed by a very creative 10 year old, Anna Jackson. All 148 pupils and teachers at the school received a bottle of raspberry lemonade each for their time, efforts and enthusiasm.
The Reverend Gordon Craig, chaplain to the UK oil and gas industry said: ”The UK Oil and Gas Chaplaincy is delighted to have been chosen as the charity supported by this innovative project. We administer a fund the purpose of which is to provide financial support to oil industry workers, past or present, and their direct dependants, who through a wide range of circumstances such as illness, injury, mobility issues, work related injuries fall into hardship.”
The story of Summerhouse Drinks began in January 2014 and since then the brand has successfully crowd-funded a Summerhouse Van for events and trade shows. The brand was a finalist in the Non Alcoholic Drinks Category at the Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards, which took place in May. Summerhouse was also crowned winner of Best New Retail Product for companies with less than 25 employees at the Grampian Food Forum Innovation Awards in March 2014 and in March this year, it was awarded Runner Up in the Artisan Drink category at the Scottish Rural Awards.
