Somerset House welcomes a new arrival: Dipna Anand
Set within one of London’s most spectacular buildings, renowned chef Dipna Anand has announced the launch of her newest restaurant in Somerset House’s South Wing later this month, joining the contemporary art centre’s vibrant food scene.
Dipna’s latest restaurant in Somerset House is a celebration of years of experience cooking authentic Indian food which has won her industry awards and accolades as well as guest slots on various cooking TV shows and her own show, Dip In Kitchen. As well as her restaurant businesses and public profile, Dipna works to educate the public around Indian food; championing her ethos of creating simple, healthy, and delicious dishes.
Heroing the authentic Punjabi and South Indian cuisine that Dipna is known and loved for, the new restaurant will bring signature dishes, a new brunch menu and beautiful Thali’s to diners, amidst the stunning interiors of Somerset House overlooking the River Thames. Guests visiting the restaurant can expect to enjoy some of Dipna’s signature dishes including Samosa Chaat Blast, Dehli Makhani Chicken, and Dynamite Wings. Vegetarian and classic Thali plates will be available alongside a wider selection of traditional dishes on the a la carte menu such as South Indian prawn curry. Drink highlights include fragrant Indian wines such as Maharashtra, Akluj Sangiovese/Cabernet Franc/Shiraz; classic Indian beverages such as refreshing Mango lassi plus a wide selection of contemporary cocktails including Passionfruit mojito.
The restaurant’s interior celebrates Dipna’s heritage in Kenya and India through beautiful artwork and personal photos alongside a subtle palette of textured blue walls and copper features, Herringbone flooring and orange banquettes resulting in a relaxed but contemporary feel. The new Restaurant & Bar will be opening to coincide with Skate at Somerset House with Moët & Chandon so guests can enjoy a heart warming meal before or after hitting the ice rink in the striking neoclassical courtyard.
Dipna comments: “I am super excited to be opening my new restaurant in the heart of London at Somerset House.
