Compass wins at Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards
Compass Group UK & Ireland has won Employer of the Year 2023 in the Retail, Hospitality and Tourism category at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards, which took place on 5th October at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.
Previously the BAME Apprenticeship Awards, the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards aims to showcase talent and diversity within multicultural communities through the celebration of those working hard to overcome adversity to achieve their goals through apprenticeships. The awards highlight the achievements of apprentices and the contribution of employers and learning providers who have assisted them along their journey.
The Compass Group UK and Ireland Apprenticeship Team - Compass Group UK and Ireland won the award within the Retail, Hospitality & Tourism category for commitment attracting and supporting apprentices from diverse backgrounds.
Dean Alunan, General Manager for Compass Group UK & Ireland – Healthcare who is currently working towards an Chartered Manager Degree Level 6 apprenticeship, was highly commended within the Retail, Hospitality & Tourism category alongside Yasmin Sharif from Chartwells. Yasmin is working towards Commis Chef Level 2 who was a shortlisted finalist.

The team works tirelessly to attract, recruit, support and empower apprentices from diverse backgrounds. Earlier this year, Compass became patrons of the Multicultural Apprenticeship Alliance, which provides resources, guidance and opportunities and empowers individuals from under-represented backgrounds to access meaningful career paths.
