Compass gives Workplace by Facebook the thumbs up!
Compass Group UK & Ireland, the UK’s largest food and support services company, has rolled out Workplace, Facebook’s communications platform for companies.
Compass was an early adopter of this innovative new system which it has been trialling for the past few months.
Following the initial success of the pilot phase, Compass has now made Workplace available to more than 6000 colleagues, including its mobile regional management teams and its employees based across multiple offices, with the potential to widen its availability across the business to all 60,000 employees over the coming months.
Commenting on the advantages of Workplace for the company, Michael Kissman, Director of Corporate Affairs, Compass Group UK & Ireland, said:
“We have 60,000 colleagues working across multiple sites under many different sector brands – whether it be hospitals, schools, oil rigs, high profile leisure venues, military bases and offices, so engaging effectively with our people is no easy task.
“Workplace has transformed our ability to communicate with colleagues. Not just top-down but also the sharing of ideas and best practice across teams. It is already supporting positive colleague engagement and company culture. I believe ultimately it will translate into even better service for our clients. “
Last week, Facebook announced that Workplace was now available for every organisation worldwide. Employees are able to access information through the News Feed, create and share information in Groups or use Work Chat (instant messaging), or features such as reactions, search and trending posts. Benefits include enabling employees to engage with colleagues across the world in real time, host virtual meetings in a Group, or follow presentations or events on Facebook Live – the video streaming tool.
