The Women to Watch in HTL and Retail 2025 has been announced with Lisa Priestley, MD, Chartwells and Dianah Sweeney, one of our Growth Directors being named from Compass Group UK & Ireland. 

The Index celebrates senior women leaders and their impact across the Hospitality, Travel, Leisure and Retail sectors. The index aims to provide inspiration to women at the earlier stages of their career about the opportunities within our industry.

Dianah - what is the most valuable lesson you’ve learnt in your career?

In a world characterised by constant change, the ability to adapt and thrive is essential for both professional success and personal fulfilment. Embracing adaptability has enabled me to navigate technological advancements, organisational shifts, and other challenges with resilience and innovation. 

In the end, it is those who can best manage change that will thrive. Adaptability is the key to unlocking one’s potential and embracing the opportunities that lie ahead.

Lisa - What does being a Woman to Watch in HTL mean to you?

It means a lot to me. I think it recognises that if you have a passion for hospitality, you can work your way through an organisation and be successful. I didn’t go to university and I’m a woman who has been successful. It’s made me look at myself and my career and recognise how I can advise and encourage future leaders to help others within the world of hospitality.
