Compass Underlines Importance of D&I with BAME Apprenticeship Network Partnership

News

Compass Group UK and Ireland joins forces with BAME Apprenticeship Network as it underlines the importance of diversity and inclusion and furthers its commitment to ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity and the chance to progress their career.

Testament to the hard work of the UK’s leading food and support service company, in creating a workforce which represents the rich diversity of the customers and clients it serves, Compass was recognised as Employer of the Year in the Retail, Hospitality & Tourism category at the BAME Apprenticeship Awards 2021.

Compass is a BAME Apprenticeship Network member and is working closely with the organisation which is dedicated to closing the diversity gap in apprenticeships, and championing change within the sector. Compass will be showcasing opportunities to develop a career with them at the Festival of Apprenticeships, which takes place later this year in Manchester, Birmingham, and London. Additionally, its Kickstart placements and Apprentice vacancies will be promoted via the BAME Apprenticeship Network website.

Thinkfest and BAME Apprenticeship Network National Director, Kasim Choudhry, said of the partnership: “During a time when the hospitality sector has taken a major hit, Compass Group UK and Ireland has been striving to support its employees and apprentices wherever they can, diversifying their offering to keep people working, earning, and learning. Compass has been active in creating an inclusive workplace by setting up a number of dedicated networks, run by colleagues for colleagues which promote, celebrate and raise awareness of key topics and issues.”

Jonathan Foot, Head of Apprenticeships and Early Careers at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “Diversity and Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. Uniting to connect underrepresented talent to high quality apprenticeships makes perfect sense. We want to continue to grow our diverse apprentice community and look forward to watching our collaboration with BAME Apprenticeship Network flourish. We’re also looking forward to launching some exciting Food Culture workshops this Spring for our Level 2/3 Apprentices, so watch this space!”
